Stonetown is the historical epicenter of Zanzibar. The narrow streets and alleys boast of very old features.  The old town ruins are art of the architectural history that make it even more beautiful. The former slave markets and routes are part of this historical attractions. The paths form a huge maze and getting around can be exciting.

The Swahili culture is predominant here. The cuisine is also Swahili and also tasty considering all the spices available around. The food markets in the town offer all kinds of cuisines. Fresh from sea and readily available for sampling in the open air markets. The old town is beautiful and offers great opportunities for instagrammable photos. The town is predominantly Muslim and therefore conservative in their dressing within the streets.
