This journey takes you to the heart of the Masai Mara safari arena. This is the wildebeest migration territory in Kenya. It is home to the big five, several hundred species of birds and hundreds of grass trotting herbivores. During the months of August to October, millions of hoofed mammals trot the grasses of this beautiful plains. The big cats are in plenty, as they hunt or lay ambush on the rocky Kopjes or thorn bushes.
The communities surrounding the Masai Mara game reserve love sharing their cultural richness with the visitors. You will enjoy cultural activities that include traditional dances, art and jewelry, local household chores, making fires, nature walks that also include medicinal identification. The Maasai also adorn beautiful regalia . Adjoining the reserve are community conservancies which also promote conservation. Detailed Safari
Depart Nairobi in the morning for a drive across the Great Rift Valley floor. Arrive in time for a sumptuous lunch at camp. Enjoy a scheduled game drive in the afternoon in search of the great plains wildlife amidst the thorned shrubs, crotons and spectacular acacia and banalities . Enjoy a drink at sunset as the sun sets across the orange horizon.
Spend the days following the paths of the great migration in the reserve. Maasai mara is famed for its big cats also featured in the BBC wild cat diaries. For bird lovers enjoy the sights of land bird and vultures which easily attract you to a kill.
In the evenings enjoy a bonfire and some chilled drinks as you reminisce events of the day. You can also choose to enjoy the plains aboard an optional balloon ride on either of the mornings.
This marks the end of your African safari in Kenya. We drive back to the capital with lunch en route. Later there is a scheduled transfer to the airport for your outbound flight.
