Kilimanjaro national park is accessible by air or by road from Arusha to the town of Moshi. This is the home of the highest peak in Africa- majestic Mt Kilimanjaro. The mountain stands in its glory with its cones KIbo, Shira and Mawenzi. It is the highest free standing mountain in the world. It stands at an elevation of 5895 meters above sea level. The mountain attracts both amateur and professional hikers from all over the globe.

Mt Kilimanjaro isn’t as technical to climb but you need plenty of preparation for acclimatization. The best times to climb Kilimanjaro is during the dry season, which is between June and September. The distinctive white snow glaze on the peak is seen for miles across Kenya and Tanzania.
While you elevate, you will cross a variety of vegetation. From tropical forests, moorlands, mountain flowers and mosses to the ice and rock which leads to the peak.
