The Nairobi national park has been names the only national park within a city in the world. Established in 1956 it’s the oldest national park in Kenya with over 100 mammal species and over 400 bird species. It provides start for safari seekers who want to sample the safari experience. For those on tight schedule and budget, the park is a good way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city center.
The Park also has spacious designated picnic sites if you want to enjoy the cool breeze and soothing winds. There are several accommodation options that are located at the periphery of the national park. Other attractions include the hippo pools, the walking trails and the rhino sanctuary. Here you can see all the big five except the elephant.
Other wildlife include jackals, cheetah, hyenas, wildebeest, zebras, giraffe, elands, antelopes and wildebeests. The park is only 7 kilometers from the city center. It can easily be accessed from the domestic and international airports.
