Bwindi national park is at the borer of Rwanda and Uganda and offers a more affordable gorilla trekking safari option in terms of value for the dollar. The gorilla trekking permit is cheaper in Uganda and thus a more budget experience. Bwindi national park is home to half of the remaining wild gorillas. The forest is also diverse in habitation and home to other species including over 300 birds species of which 23 are endemics to this region only. It also supports over 200 butterflies and over 300 tree species thus the name impenetrable forest.
Detailed Safari
Enjoy a scenic drive from the capital city to the Rwanda Uganda border. You enjoy the hotel amenities for the rest of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at hotel awaiting the gorilla treks safari in the morning.
Today is the highlight of you gorilla trekking safari. Trekking can be anything between 2 and 6 hours. Spend time with the gorilla family group once located. Usually you are allocated one hour for minimal disturbance with their general life activities.
Later the rangers will assist you descend and you will be transferred to the hotel for overnight stay. Dinner and overnight at lodge.
Today you will spend time with the forest dwellers or keepers.
The Batwa people or pygmies are the ancient forest dwellers who still uphold their cultures. This experiences exposes you to the cultural ways of life. This include hunting, food gathering, bee harvesting, hunting tactics, making fires and water fetching. They Batwa community leaves in a forested disposal land just at the boundaries of Bwindi forest.
Later we shall have a transfer to the city in the sun for your outbound flight.
