This is an outline of Tanzania’s best-selling safari. It will take you to the best of the northern circuit safari attractions. It incorporates game drives to the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Experience the magical salty lake in Lake Manyara and perhaps sight the tree climbing lions of this woodland forested lake. Serengeti is the culmination of this safari with highlights including the great wildebeest’s migration. It is also home to large lion prides and the thousands of hooved mammals that call this plains home. The varied biodiversity makes Serengeti home to a large variety of wildlife species. From the savannah plains, the beautiful hillsides and acacia thorn forests.
Ngorongoro is the home to the big five, a variety of bird species and amazing views form the rim.

Lake Manyara national park is located approximately 3 hours from the city. The drive to the lake offers beautiful views of the Great Rift Valley. The meandering landscape takes you to the salty home of flamingos at the rift valley floor. The lake covers a huge part of the park and attracts a great number of wildlife and bird species. Wildlife includes buffalos, lions, waterbucks and giraffes. The lions in tis park like resting on the canopies of the gigantic trees.
From the Great Rift Valley floor you will head out to the rolling plains in Serengeti. This is the start of the great wildlife migration safari which happens annually between Serengeti and Maasai mara in Kenya. The thousands of wildebeests and Zebras cross over into Kenya during the months of July –September. The Grumeti and Mara River are the greatest obstacles with the gigantic Nile crocodiles lying in wait. The big cats lay ambush for the survivors that make it across the river edges.
During the moths of October to November they will cross over again into Serengeti settling down around the central part of Serengeti. In the months of January and February, the wildebeests give birth in synchrony. Thousands of calves are dropped every minute overwhelming the predators. The wildebeests calving season in Serengeti is a sight to behold.
Enjoy the sights and sounds of the world UNESCO heritage site. Enroute to Ngorongoro you can pass via the Olduvai Gorge which is the cradle of mankind if time allows. Enjoy the breathtaking drive down to the crater floor from the rim. Lunch at the hippo pools offer you an opportunity to observe wildlife behaviors while still enjoying the sounds of the wild. The crater is home to over 25, 000 species of wildlife including buffalo, rhino, lions and gazelle. Birds’ on the land include ostriches, secretary birds and Kori bustards.
